Trauma therapy for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and multicultural adults who want to embody self-trust, belonging, and connection.
What’s bringing folks to therapy
You might be feeling disconnected from yourself, your body, or the people you love.
The fear of failing is preventing you from getting started or taking meaningful risks.
Perhaps you're feeling alienated, empty, or unsure of what’s really important to you.
Maybe you’re struggling to know who you are and where you belong.
It might be difficult to hold onto your boundaries and advocate for yourself.
Maybe it’s hard for you to trust yourself, the people in your life, or what you’re feeling.
Past painful memories and trauma might be creeping into your present as nightmares, endless worry, constant tension, or a pervasive fear of what might go wrong.
You might feel stuck and overwhelmed on how to move forward.
Unaddressed pains can show up as anxiety, depression, trauma, harmful relationships, and self-criticism. Therapy can offer space to honor your lived experiences and get to know who you are beneath the survival strategies that have gotten you this far.
Affirming & holistic Therapy that honors your whole story
Therapy is a place to get to the root of your challenges to (re)connect with yourself and cultivate an embodied sense of safety. We can work together to better understand how your past influences your present and foster your vision of a future that’s rooted in your values.
Whether it’s untangling stories that no longer serve you, facing fears that are holding you back, or processing past trauma - I work with you to reclaim your voice and restore your autonomy to create meaningful changes in your life that extend past the therapy space.
I strive to co-create a space where you can authentically express yourself and safely explore your inner world. I am collaborative in my approach and will tailor our sessions to address your unique needs and goals. I integrate varying evidence-based modalities, including EMDR, IFS (parts work), somatic therapy (body-oriented approach), DBT, and CBT.
I work with adult individuals ages 18 and older. I offer in-person sessions in the Ravenna neighborhood of Seattle and virtual sessions to people across Washington state.
Walk & Talk Therapy
I additionally offer walk and talk therapy near Ravenna park. For those interested in pairing therapy with a nature walk, this might be a good fit for you.
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR helps the brain process overwhelming experiences to reduce the emotional charge they carry. This can be helpful for working with painful memories, trauma, or severe anxiety that feels “stuck” in the body. Reprocessing memories aims to lower the intensity of emotional and physical responses, help teach your body where there is safety in the present, and build more adaptive beliefs about yourself, your relationships and the future.
Holistic approaches For your healinG
& inner liberation
Internal family systems (IFS)
All parts of you are welcome.
IFS is a holistic, non-judgmental approach that honors your multitudes and seeks to build capacity for being present with yourself and the complexities of your experiences. This can be supportive for better understanding how you’ve made sense of past experiences and learned to navigate the world. We can move towards creating more peace in your inner world by working through conflicting experiences, cultivating more compassion towards different parts of yourself, and strengthening your sense of self-trust.
Somatic therapy
Learn to reconnect with yourself and your body in ways that feel safe. Somatic therapy helps build an understanding of how your body stores experiences/memories and carries the impact of past challenges or trauma. This can be supportive for better attuning to your internal and physical experiences, while developing tools to help calm your body and regulate emotions when needed. Work on strengthening the mind-body connection to address how anxiety and trauma are stored in your body, rather than solely relying on ways to to think your way out of a physical/emotional reaction.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical means recognizing that seemingly opposite realities can both be true at the same time. DBT emphasizes finding a middle ground to integrate those co-existing truths. This is an approach that seeks to balances both acceptance and meaningful change; validation and challenge; capacity and support. This is a skills-focused approach that helps develop tools for improving mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I offer support with building DBT skills that can help you navigate your world and increase acting in alignment with your values - I do not offer full-model DBT services which generally include a skills training group, phone coaching, and a consultation team.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected and impact your wellbeing. CBT helps with identifying and shifting patterns of thinking, related emotions, and subsequent actions that are no longer serving you. On the level of our thoughts - this might include interrupting negative thought spirals, exploring underlying assumptions, expanding your perspective on challenging situations, and developing more compassionate self-talk. On the behavioral side - we might explore actions that align with your values, find ways to increase meaningful experiences in your life, build healthier coping strategies, and work towards facing feared situations.

Getting started
(1) Book a consultation
You can reach out to me here to set up a free 15 minute consultation call. We’ll use this time to briefly get to know each other, talk about what you’re wanting to work on in therapy, and decide if we feel like a good fit for your therapeutic goals.
(2) Scheduling
If we feel like a good fit, we’ll find a regular time slot for our sessions and talk through some logistical information. I work with clients on a weekly basis when starting our work together to establish our therapeutic relationship and make progress towards your goals. I offer less frequent appointments to clients who have achieved their goals and are preparing to transition out of therapy.
(3) initial sessions
Our 1st session will be an intake appointment where we’ll go over logistics, your background information and history, and spend time discussing what you think is important for me to know at the start of our work together.
Our 2nd session will focus on discussing what you’d like to work on in therapy and clarifying your therapeutic goals. We’ll explore what has worked well for you in the past and discuss different pathways towards your goals.
It’s normal for people’s goals and needs to change over time. I view therapy as a collaborative and adaptive space where we can adjust the focus and therapeutic approach as need.
"Maybe the most important thing we can do is be willing to sit with the discomfort of not knowing what comes next."
